Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (8 June 1996–12 September 2023), known professionally as MohBad, was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos. He was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022. He was best known for his hit singles “Ponmo, Feel Good”, and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (you will always be remembered) with Rexxie, which were nominated three times for the Headies Awards in 2022.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2023, Mohbad’s management announced his exit from Marlian’s music.
He accused Naira Marley of being present during the assault and doing nothing to stop it. The artist is also accusing Marlian’s music record label of refusing to pay him his royalties from monetized intellectual content and advances as mutually agreed since 2019.
What Really Happened To Him.
His close friend Bella Shmurda said Mohbad attempted to commit murder because of the hatred people showed him in the entertainment industry, mostly from his ex’s record that it was Mohbad’s girl friend that saw him when he was trying to jump through the window.
Some people said Mohbad and other artists on his ex-record label were used to do some illegal businesses, which Mohbad later rejected, and that later led to the hatred he got from the label. He once said that if anything happens to his life, Naira Marley (the owner of Marlians music record) should be held responsible. Only God knows what really happened.
My advice to the upcoming musicians
Before signing a record deal, please try to learn some information about the record label you want to work with. The late pop king Michael Jackson once said the CEO of Sony Records was a devil based on what happened between them and that he wanted him to sell his soul to the devil.
On social media, an ex-big brother, Naija Gifty, accused Rema of joining a cult group by selling his soul to the devil, so music can be a global thing. Only God knows the truth.
People have accused musicians of different things, especially if their music is becoming more global than they expected.
